Was it all a Dream? Apparently no homeowners were forced to default before they could apply for HAMP. If you disagree, please TELL THIS BLOG YOUR STORY in the comments section of this article. Thank you.

A very big government scandal appears to be brewing. Apparently no one who has applied for HAMP was forced to default on their mortgage payments before they could even be eligible to APPLY for HAMP!

If you are a homeowner and the above statement is not true based on your own experience, please explain what happened to you in the comments section of this article.

  1. My sale date was moved ahead month by month several times. I was told my sale date was moved out to Jan 11,2012. My home was Auctioned on December 30. NOW CHECK THIS OUT... 2 days before my home was auctioned I received a letter from BofA stating I was in an active loan modification.
I made it very clear that I was willing and could afford to pay my debt. I tried to have the sale revoked....BofA honored the sale.

I am a victim of their scramble...In the very least, with all of my hardship, I want the Foreclosure REMOVED so that I will be able to buy another Home NOW (not wait 3 years because of their mistake)
    Can anybody help me? 951-789-8765

  2. I started the modification process with BOA this past october. they told me there will be a three month forebearance period and i could NOT make any payments. they took away my online payment abilities so i figured this was the case for everyone. I have NEVER BEEN LATE before this. so i just got my 2nd foreclosure letter in the mail. i have kept in contact with BOA weekly since, been through two different reps and a supervisor...i FINALLY got someone to tell me i should have been making payments all along. the government should have regulations on this!

  3. Please keep sharing your stories even if you are planning on going directly to HSI. I have no financial stake in HSI, I just saw them on ABC television and they seem like a sincere company trying to help homeowners.

  4. I was current on my payments when my husband left and I called Band of America to let them know I may have trouble coming up. They suggested the Make Home Affordable Program and told me I would have to stop making payments or I would not be approved. They began delays by only asking for one or two documents at a time for the application process. As soon as I became suspicious, they began shuffling me to new contacts. Then they denied me for "not providing documents" that I did, in fact, provide. They conveniently found those documents and apologized for their error, but not before they foreclosed on my home. The house is now just sitting in a state of foreclosure but not "yet" for sale. It has been coming up on eight months since I first applied, six months since they've had all the information they needed to make a decision.

    1. What frustrates me about your story is that in California
they have a program that is supposed to reduce the mortgage debt up to 100,000, but, it requires a person be two months behind on their mortgage! Keep Your Home California

  5. I called Bank of America to tell them I was going to have trouble paying my mortgage after my husband left. At that point, I had always been current. I was told I had to stop making payments if I wanted to be approved for a modification.

The began the delays by only asking for one or two documents each week, and when I became suspicious, that's when I began getting shuffled to different contacts periodically.

They eventually sent me a denial for "not providing documents" that I did, in fact, provide. They conveniently found the documents, apologized, but referred my home for foreclosure anyway.

They didn't bother responding to my original QWR and they refuse to clearly explain to me what is going on in this lengthy process or why it is taking so long.

It is coming up on eight months since I started my application process, six since they had all the documents they needed from me. They caused me to be eight months behind in my mortgage and from what I understand, the longer you are behind, the harder it is to qualify for the modification.

    1. I feel badly for what you were put through. It is possible that your state may have some type of "make good" program to "make up" some of what was taken from you in the past. In California, you can try this site, and they do have links to other sites as well. Keep Your Home California

    1. I am in florida. supposedly wells fargo originated my loan (we all know these were "table" funded loans already paid for by investors. if loan does not close money goes back to investor. basically 2 sets of closing papers also does everyone know once the notes are sold into security it null and voids the note would cause complete pandimonium just like if they told us aliens lived amongst us) 1st it was a stated pay check stubs and w2 forms and had the same profession for 19 years. the broker increased my salary to make it look like i could afford the house. then i lost a job in 2009 and asked for the "hamp" loan, we were put into a forebearance 1st, paid 2-3 payments during forbearance into a separate account??????never accounted for, denied hamp after months of lost paper work, wells fargo modification increases mortgage, to scared to lose home we put 20% down in 2006 , may 2010 bp oil spill cancelled from job alot in st petersburg florida using credit card to stay afloat, sept 2010 husband gets sick cant collect his short term disabilty, paid april-aug mod payments. (never late on mortgage:: forebearance then 5 mod payments), call wells fargo to tell them i am living on credit cards i need a modification please a hamp loan i need to lower my payments. i am told on 9/14 and 9/15 day mortgage due and not be late, in order to apply for a hamp loan i had to be in immient default. well i was i was, we were living on credit cards. no, they said i had to stop paying my mortgage for 3 months then we will take your hamp loan application. i asked for this statement in writing both days they refused. i cried , i asked for a supervisor i didnt want to lose my house they refused. I WAS INDUCED INTO DEFAULT, then 12/2010 when they had all my financial records ready to approve us we were in review as i called with a hope counselor, i was called that someone got into the loan processors computer and my file was moved and now i may not be approved. jan 1011 i receive another letter from wells fargo to reapply for hamp loan i comply. i send the information fed-ex due feb 14 i send it feb 4th so there would be no problem. i saved tracking number. my package was signed for. on feb 16 i receive a letter that my hamp loan was denied because they did not recieve paper work and then telling me about a short sale and pre-foreclsoure stuff, i called my paper work is missing then they say they didnt receive it all?????? then another loan processor calls me. i tell her to find my package it was signed for and sent fed ex i have a tracking number and a supervisor from fed ex stating the package was deleivered. next i receive 3 letters in the mail from 3 different desks with 3 different names telling me to reapply for hamp loan. next me and my husband started shopping for a foreclosure defense lawyers. we were served dec 27, yes 2 days after christmas but thank god for the internet and my connections i was seen 2 days later. one of the best and respected lawyers in the state of florida i am extremly lucky, well not realy haha. we all have been dual tracked or parellel foreclosures. what a crime perped on the american people.
